Clean The Ocean is an educational simulation game in which you have to use a boat to fish garbage out of the water and recycle it.
Every year, millions of tons of plastic waste end up in our waters. According to an estimate in the Plastic Atlas published by the Heinrich Böll Foundation and BUND, the total amount of plastic in the world's oceans in 2018 was 86 million tons, and the trend is rising. This waste causes major problems for the ecosystem and threatens fish, turtles, seabirds and other marine animals. Plastic decomposes very slowly, so if it is not collected, the waste remains in the oceans for decades. There it forms dangerous swirls of waste on the surface of the water or turns into microplastics, which enter the food cycle through fish and can also enter our bodies when we eat them.
Free the ocean from waste
Your help is needed to protect marine life and keep the environment clean. Become part of soccer star Lionel Messi's crew in this simulation game and use your boat to collect garbage from the sea to recycle it.
Use the mouse or touch screen to steer your boat across the water. Search for garbage and collect it with your boat. Simply sail your boat to the floating garbage and wait until the nets have fished the garbage out of the water.
A display at the top right of the playing field shows you the capacity of your ship. Once the storage compartments are full, you must return to the harbor, dock there and unload the waste. Then it's time to recycle: sort the waste into the correct garbage cans so that it can be recycled.
You will receive coins for every piece of waste that you dispose of correctly. You can use your reward to buy upgrades for your ship and increase its loading capacity or speed, for example.
Look out for footballs floating on the water on the high seas. If you collect them, you can become Messi yourself, kick them into the goal in a mini-game and receive further rewards!
